Benzalkonium chloride is a quaternary ammonium compound, which has good antibacterial effect on bacteria, yeast and fungi. Benzalkonium chloride is a pharmaceutical excipient, commonly used in ophthalmic preparations, and is a highly effective antibacterial preservative. The product is colorless to light yellow transparent liquid or white powder, which is a disinfectant and preservative. Benzalkonium chloride dissociates into cationic active groups in aqueous solution, which has cleaning and bactericidal effects. It is widely used in sterilization, disinfection, anti corrosion, etc., and it is also a leveling agent for cationic dyeing and finishing fibers.
